We present effective solutions to block exhaust gas recirculation in diesel engines. The plugs are fitted in place of the original valve, completely cutting off the flow of exhaust gases back into the intake manifold. This eliminates the negative effects of the EGR system, such as contamination of the intake manifold and a reduction in engine power.

We offer solid and perforated versions, made from high-quality stainless steel or aluminium. Solid models ensure a complete blockage of exhaust gas flow, whilst those with holes allow for minimal flow, which in some cases helps to avoid errors in the on-board computer. The EGR valve plug is perfectly matched to specific engine models from many makes, including VW, Audi, Opel and Renault.

Fitting this component results in a noticeable improvement in engine performance. Power and torque are increased, whilst fuel consumption is reduced. The engine runs more smoothly, without jerking or stalling. Eliminating exhaust gas recirculation also reduces the risk of turbocharger failure or a clogged particulate filter. An EGR plug is a solution particularly recommended for high-mileage vehicles, where this system is prone to failure.

Fitting EGR plugs

Before starting the installation, gather the necessary tools: socket wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers and a degreaser. Begin removing the original EGR valve by disconnecting the battery and allowing the engine to cool down. Then unscrew the fixing bolts and carefully remove the valve.

It is crucial to position the plug correctly. We recommend fitting it in front of the exhaust gas cooler, as this prevents soot from accumulating in the system. Alternatively, it can be fitted directly behind or in front of the EGR valve. Each of these locations has its advantages
: – fitting in front of the exhaust gas cooler — the most effective way to cut off the flow of exhaust gases;
– fitting behind the valve — easier access;
– fitting in front of the valve — lower risk of ECU errors.
