Description
Swirl flaps are components used in diesel engines whose primary function is to introduce turbulence into the airflow entering the combustion chamber to improve combustion efficiency. Unfortunately, these vanes have many drawbacks. First, swirl vanes are an engine component subject to heavy wear and are prone to failure. Their failure can lead to serious engine performance issues, such as a loss of power, noise, or vibration.
