Help with choosing
Swirl flaps are components used in diesel engines whose primary function is to introduce turbulence into the airflow entering the combustion chamber in order to improve combustion efficiency. Unfortunately, these flaps have many drawbacks.
First, swirl flaps are engine components that are subject to heavy wear and are prone to failure. Their failure can lead to serious engine performance issues, such as a loss of power, noise, or vibration.
Second, swirl flaps, even when open, significantly restrict airflow, which creates additional resistance and reduces combustion efficiency. In particular, when an engine is modified to increase power and torque, swirl flaps become a major limitation on engine performance.
Finally, swirl flaps are also expensive to repair or replace. Removing them and replacing them with plugs is a popular modification among automotive enthusiasts who want to boost their engine’s performance and avoid costly repairs.
Application:
Fits VAG Group (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda) 2.0 TDI CR engines with plastic manifold no. 03L129711AG, manufactured between 2008 and 2014:

2.0 CMEA, 143 KM
After installing the plugs, use the damper stopper included in the kit to prevent an error from appearing on the dashboard.
Kit contents:
8 x ADITECH swirl flap plugs,
1 x ADITECH24 throttle position limiter,
1 x ADITECH aluminum manifold plug (throttle side),
1 x plug clip (throttle side)
This repair kit should resolve the following error codes:
P1018, 012597, P3135, P2008, P2011, 004120.
These error codes are related to malfunctions in the swirl flaps or their position sensors, which can lead to various issues, such as a burnt-out actuator motor or an oil leak.
P2008 and P2011 indicate that the swirl flaps in bank 1 or 2 are stuck, while code 004120 indicates a problem with the swirl flaps in bank 2. P1018 refers to an incorrect signal from the swirl flap position sensor in bank 1, while code 012597 indicates engine malfunctions that may be caused, among other things, by stuck swirl flaps.
Code P3135 also pertains to the swirl flap position sensor, which has not reached the required position, which may lead to various engine-related issues.

The ADITECH kit allows you to remove worn intake manifold flaps in VAG Group 2.0 TDI CR engines and replace them with eight PA66 GF35 plugs. It fits engines with a plastic intake manifold (part number 03L129711AG) and is designed for vehicles from 2008–2014, including select Audi, Seat, and Skoda models.
The plugs are made of the same material as the original swirl flaps and intake manifold. PA66 GF35, a glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide, is lightweight, rigid, and has smooth edges, ensuring that there are no sharp burrs typical of cheap castings during installation. Automated production ensures dimensional consistency, making installation easier without the need to manually adjust each part.
Which 2.0 TDI CR engines is this kit compatible with?
This product is compatible with 2.0 TDI CR engines featuring the plastic intake manifold 03L129711AG, manufactured between 2008 and 2014. This solution is ideal if you want to remove the swirl flaps instead of replacing the entire intake manifold.
Supported engine codes include CAAB 102 KM, CAGA 143 KM, CAGB 136 KM, CAGC 120 KM, CAHA 170 KM, CAHB 163 KM, CBAA 136 KM, CBAB 140 KM, CBAC 143 KM, CBBB 170 KM, CBDA 136 KM, CBDB 140 KM, CBDC 110 KM, CEGA 170 KM, CJAA 140 KM, and CMEA 143 KM.
Why are intake manifold flaps removed?
The intake manifold flaps control the flow of air in the intake manifold. In the 2.0 TDI engine, they are designed to create turbulence that promotes efficient combustion of the fuel-air mixture.
The problem arises when the swirl flaps wear out, develop play, or become clogged with deposits from the intake and seize up. The symptoms are clear: a loss of power, noise, vibrations, and error codes P2008 and P2011 related to stuck flaps, P3135 regarding their position, as well as P1018, 012597, and 004120. Even when open, the intake manifold flaps create additional resistance and, in more aggressive modifications, restrict airflow.
What’s included in the kit, and what should you keep in mind during installation?
This is an intake manifold repair kit used when the original flaps are worn out. Installation requires removing the intake manifold, and after removing the flaps, you must install the actuator stop, because the intake manifold flap motor continues to run and, without this stop, may cause an error to appear on the dashboard.
The kit includes:
- 8 ADITECH swirl flap plugs
- 1 ADITECH24 throttle position limiter
- 1 ADITECH aluminum manifold cap on the throttle body side
- 1 cap clip on the actuator side
This kit helps eliminate error codes P1018, 012597, P3135, P2008, P2011, and 004120 without replacing the entire manifold. It also reduces the risk of burning out the actuator motor and oil leaks. These parts are intended for use in motorsports off public roads.
FAQ
Does installing the plugs clear the error codes from the dashboard?
Yes—the kit clears error codes P1018, 012597, P3135, P2008, P2011, and 004120, provided that the manifold is removed and the throttle body restrictor is installed.
Can the car be driven on public roads with the plugs installed?
No. These parts are intended for motorsports off public roads, so using them on public roads may be inadvisable or illegal.
This kit, designed to facilitate the removal of swirl flaps in 2.0 TDI CR engines, comprises an end-stop for the adjuster and plugs made from the same material as the original swirl flaps and intake manifold, further reinforced with glass fibre (PA66 GF35).
The kit is manufactured by ADITECH, and the automated production process guarantees perfect dimensional consistency and a competitive price.
