   The DISA valve, an integral part of the airflow management system in standard naturally aspirated engines, is designed to optimize the dynamics of airflow and the fuel-air mixture depending on engine load and RPM. It works by changing the effective length of the intake manifold, which in turn affects engine performance across different RPM ranges. In naturally aspirated systems, this valve is controlled by vacuum, which activates the mechanism that changes the manifold’s configuration.

   However, when the engine is modified by adding a turbocharger or supercharger, the airflow conditions in the manifold change drastically. Supercharging creates positive pressure in the manifold, which not only eliminates the need to control the flow using the DISA valve but also prevents it from functioning as intended.
   Consequently, the DISA valve is removed during such a modification, as its presence no longer provides any benefit in the modified engine, which now operates under positive pressure conditions.

Technical Information

• Intake manifold plug, equipped with an original German Viton O-ring, characterized by resistance to oils as well as high and low temperatures. The O-ring is ground and free of burrs, ensuring a better seal.
• The plug is made of a special 6063 T66 aluminum alloy for the automotive industry.
• After installing the cap, the valve must be reprogrammed so that it does not report an error.
